The third set of episodes in this mecha adventure focuses on conflicting loyalties. During a skirmish, Shiro and Aina save each other's lives--and discover their love transcends their commitment to the warring Earth Federation and Zeon Forces. Shiro wrestles with another moral dilemma when he violates orders and aids a friendly guerrilla village. Although he may have lost faith in the war, Shiro has grown more attached to the other members of the 08 Team, in contrast to Aina's zealot brother Ginias, who is willing to sacrifice Zeon soldiers to get his prototype Apsalus military robot into production. The principle characters' battles with their consciences are juxtaposed with some well-staged battles between space ships and Gundam robots.
